What I teach

Three subjects taught properly, not six taught vaguely.

I only tutor subjects I'm examined on at the top level right now. Everything is mapped to your board's specification, and every piece of work comes back marked against the real mark scheme.

GCSE Maths

AQA · Edexcel · OCR

Full specification coverage, with the grade 7–9 material given the time it actually needs.

  • Algebraic proof, surds and indices
  • Quadratics, simultaneous and iterative methods
  • Circle theorems and vectors
  • Histograms, probability trees, bounds
  • Multi-step problem solving (AO3)

GCSE Further Maths

AQA L2 Certificate · OCR Additional Maths

The bridge into A-level, and the single best preparation for a strong sixth-form start.

  • Differentiation and stationary points
  • Matrices and transformations
  • Factor theorem and algebraic division
  • Trigonometric identities and equations
  • Coordinate geometry of the circle

GCSE Physics

Separate · Trilogy

Where marks quietly disappear: equation selection, rearranging, units and required practicals.

  • Forces, motion and momentum
  • Electricity and circuit analysis
  • Energy stores and efficiency
  • Waves, radiation and magnetism
  • Required practicals and 6-mark answers

Free, no sign-up

Where are your marks actually going?

Six questions, twenty marks. You answer them, then see the mark scheme split into method and accuracy — and find out whether you're losing marks to the maths or to the working you never wrote down. Most students are surprised which.

About

The person actually doing the teaching.

I'm Archit Sharma — Upper Sixth at King's College School, Wimbledon, taking Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Economics at A-level.

I'm applying to Cambridge and LSE to read Economics, so my own week is spent on admissions-level maths and the TMUA. That matters more than it sounds: the habits that get you through an admissions paper — showing method, managing time, spotting when a question is testing something other than what it appears to — are the same habits that move a GCSE grade 6 to a grade 8.

I tutor three subjects and no more, because I'd rather be genuinely strong in a narrow range than passable across a wide one.

  • King's College School, Wimbledon — Upper Sixth
  • Predicted A*A*A* at A-level, plus an A in Further Maths
  • Cambridge and LSE applicant — Economics, 2027 entry
  • King's Essay: Bayesian Nash equilibrium in oligopoly pricing
  • Co-producer of a student economics and finance podcast

How it works

Diagnostic first. Then a plan. Then weekly work.

No open-ended "let's see how it goes" — you'll have the plan in writing before you pay for anything.

01

Enquiry

Send me the subject, the exam board, the current grade and the target. I reply within 24 hours with two or three slots.

02

Free diagnostic lesson

Forty-five minutes, no charge, no obligation. I work through a graded question set and watch how your student answers, not just whether they get it right. A written summary follows: topics that are secure, topics that aren't, and the exam-technique habits costing marks.

03

A written plan

A term-by-term route to the target grade, ordered by how many marks each topic is actually worth. If you'd rather take that plan elsewhere, it's yours to keep.

04

Weekly lessons

Sixty minutes on video call with a shared whiteboard. Annotated notes after every lesson, plus past-paper questions marked against the official mark scheme — the same feedback an examiner would give.

Fees

One rate. No agency fee, no registration fee, no contract.

Diagnostic lesson

Free 45 minutes

The first lesson costs nothing. You leave with a written assessment and a plan whether or not you book again.

Standard lesson

£50 per hour

  • One to one, online
  • Annotated notes after every lesson
  • Homework set and marked to the mark scheme
  • Pay per lesson — no block booking
  • Free cancellation with 24 hours' notice

Questions

The things parents ask first.

You're still at school yourself. Why you?

Because I sat these papers recently enough to remember exactly where the marks go, and I'm still being examined at a higher level every week. I'm not a qualified teacher and I don't pretend to be one. What I offer is current, specific subject knowledge and exam technique, one to one. The free first lesson exists so you can judge that before any money changes hands.

What are your actual grades?

Predicted A* in Maths (Edexcel), A* in Physics (AQA), A* in Economics and an A in Further Maths (OCR MEI). I'm applying to Cambridge and LSE for Economics for 2027 entry and I sit the TMUA admissions test. Happy to show the paperwork on request.

What happens in a lesson?

A video call with a shared digital whiteboard, so we're both writing on the same page. We start with last week's questions, work through the target topic, then finish on timed exam questions. Annotated notes go out afterwards so there's a record to revise from.

Which exam boards do you cover?

AQA, Edexcel and OCR for Maths and Physics. For Further Maths, the AQA Level 2 Certificate and OCR Additional Maths. Tell me the board when you enquire and I'll work from that specification.

Do you set homework?

Yes — usually one timed past-paper section. It comes back marked against the official mark scheme with every lost mark explained, because knowing why a mark went is the part that changes the grade.

Do you tutor A-level?

Not as a rule, but get in touch about AS Maths or Further Maths and I'll tell you honestly whether I can help.
